Hi Reader,

I'm going to get personal with you.

Over the weekend, I celebrated stepping into my 43rd year.
And during my run that morning, on muddy trails, with heavy legs and short breaths, I found myself reflecting on her, the version of me I used to imagine.

In my 20s, I wondered:

  • Would I still run at 40-something?
  • Would I still feel like myself after kids?
  • Would I even recognize the woman staring back in the mirror?

I was scared.
Scared of what motherhood would do to my body.
Scared that strength, athleticism, and feeling alive would fade into memories.

Because that's what we're told, right?

“Just wait…”
“Everything changes after kids.”
"You'll slow down eventually."

And yeah, some things have changed.

But what I didn't expect…
It's how much better it would all feel when I stopped trying to bounce back
and started building forward.

Here’s what I've learned in 43 years:

👉 Aging isn't a sentence.
👉 Motherhood isn't the end of athleticism.
👉 And strength? It looks even better with laugh lines and a history.

The body does change.
But it's wildly adaptable, resilient, and so damn capable.

This version of me is the result of showing up
through lifting, learning, mothering, running, resting, messing up, and doing it all again.

And now?
I help other women do the same. Not to chase who they were…
But to build who they want to become.

Let's talk about summer.

Right now, inside KatFit Strength, we’re prepping for summer.
But not with “bikini body” BS or start-over plans. We're setting clients up for long-term success.

And here's the truth:
It looks different for every single woman.

☀️ For some, summer is a window to push harder and chase performance goals.
🛑 For others, it's a time to pull back and protect bandwidth.

Their workouts reflect their life, not some rigid formula.
This is what I call whole human training.
Because your body doesn't exist in a vacuum.
And your fitness should support your actual life, not compete with it.

About Me

Former college track and field coach, now KatFit founder with a decade+ of training experience. Burnout prompted my shift from college coaching in 2013, and six months into KatFit, a high-risk pregnancy, reshaped my business. The fitness industry needs change, often neglecting women's well-being, fixating on unrealistic postpartum and perimenopause ideals, obsessing over weight and fat loss, and fostering a culture that can leave you feeling broken.
