Hi Reader,
If you’ve been a longtime subscriber or a listener to the MilesFromHerView podcast, you know I’m a runner through and through, and I’ve got a deep love for ultramarathons.
But here’s something different: I’ve spent most of my time not racing this year.
Instead, I’ve been crewing and pacing supporting two friends in their respective races (300 miles and 100k) and my husband in his 6-hour endurance race.
These races are never run alone. Behind every finisher is a small, mighty team helping them get to that line safely. The job of a crew or pacer isn’t just cheering. It’s checking in on hydration, nutrition, body temperature, blisters, mental fatigue, and sometimes navigating in the dark through remote wilderness.
Aid stations are only placed occasionally. When someone is 70 miles deep, even five miles can feel like forever.
Here’s the thing: That level of support isn’t just for race day.
Life is also an ultramarathon. Many women run it without a crew. |
I always see this in my coaching practice: moms, professionals, caretakers, and high achievers. They’re trying to do everything, squeeze in workouts, get stronger, and feel good in their bodies again—and they’re doing it alone.
But strength and health are not solo pursuits. Just like on the trail, real progress happens when someone checks in, reminds you to eat, move, hydrate, and rest, and guides you when the way forward feels blurry.
That’s what I do with my clients. It’s not about “perfect programs,” it’s a partnership. You’re running your race, and I’m right there with you, helping you pace it out.
So let me ask you:
Who’s on your crew right now?
- Who’s helping you build strength, cardio, and mobility in a way that actually fits your life?
- Who checks in when things get hard or you’re unsure what to do next?
- Who reminds you that you can keep going when the finish line feels far away?
If you realize the answer is “no one” or “me, barely,” then I’d love to talk.
I’ve got a few spots open for new clients right now. If you’re curious about working together or want to ask a few questions, I invite you to schedule a call.
There’s no pressure, just a conversation.
Let’s ensure your next miles on the trail or in life aren’t ones you must do alone.

✨ Coach Up: Your Simple Action This Week
Here’s your one easy win because progress doesn’t have to be overwhelming:
Today, choose your “go-to 10.”
Pick one 10-minute movement you can do on autopilot this week when your day gets hectic.
Examples:
- 10-minute walk (outside or treadmill)
- 10 air squats, 10 push-ups, 10 glute bridges, repeat 3 rounds
- 10 minutes of mobility or foam rolling while watching TV
- One YouTube yoga or core flow you love
This becomes your fallback plan. No stress, no thinking. Just go to your “go-to.” You’ll feel stronger mentally and physically just by keeping the promise to move.
Let me know what you pick, I’d love to hear it.
In strength,
Kat

About Me
Former college track and field coach, now KatFit founder with a decade+ of training experience. Burnout prompted my shift from college coaching in 2013, and six months into KatFit, a high-risk pregnancy, reshaped my business. The fitness industry needs change, often neglecting women's well-being, fixating on unrealistic postpartum and perimenopause ideals, obsessing over weight and fat loss, and fostering a culture that can leave you feeling broken.
