A gentle reminder for Mother’s Day (and every day)

Hi Reader,

Whether or not you celebrate Mother’s Day, this message is for you.

We carry many roles: mother, partner, friend, professional, caretaker, and the list goes on. And somewhere in the middle of it all, we're told to chase this idea of “balance.”

But here’s the truth I’ve come to believe:
Balance is an illusion.

Trying to do everything perfectly, all at once, is a fast track to burnout. It’s too much. And it’s not necessary.

So here’s your permission slip to drop the pressure of “doing it all.”
Instead, lean into the idea of tradeoffs.

Prioritize what matters most in the season you’re in.
Start with the BIG things. Then what needs to be “good enough” Let the rest go.

This is how you protect your energy and show up more fully in the things that really matter.

Your priorities will shift—and that’s normal. Life comes in seasons.
What matters now might not matter in three months. Give yourself space to re-evaluate and adjust without guilt.

This is simple, but it’s not always easy. I’ve been working on this since I became a mom, and the shift it created, less guilt, less shame, and more clarity, has been incredible.

You don’t need to do it all to be enough.
You’re already doing more than you realize.

If you’re feeling pulled in every direction, I encourage you to pause.
Take a walk. Journal. Reflect.
Ask yourself what truly matters to you right now.

Cheering for you,

Kat

About Me

Former college track and field coach, now KatFit founder with a decade+ of training experience. Burnout prompted my shift from college coaching in 2013, and six months into KatFit, a high-risk pregnancy, reshaped my business. The fitness industry needs change, often neglecting women's well-being, fixating on unrealistic postpartum and perimenopause ideals, obsessing over weight and fat loss, and fostering a culture that can leave you feeling broken.

If you’ve been here a while, you’ve probably heard me say: there are some vacations you train through, and others you just live through. I help...
