The path to strength no one talks about


Hey, Reader,

My eldest just turned 14 and started high school. Watching him step into this new season of life prompted me to reflect on my parenting journey, on myself, and on the seasons we all navigate as women.

Motherhood is… complicated. And so is life. And so is strength.

Some days I feel like I’m nailing it. I see my kids laughing, I crush a workout, I check things off my to-do list, and I think, “Yes. This is exactly what I want.”

Other days, I feel like I’m failing at everything. My workouts are sloppy, my patience is thin, my energy is gone, and I wonder if I’ll ever feel like myself again.

I love being a mom. I love my kids more than I can put into words. But I don’t always love motherhood. I don’t always feel capable, energized, or like the woman I want to be. And that’s okay.

Because strength, growth, and confidence aren’t about perfection, they’re about showing up for yourself, even when life feels messy.

And it’s not just motherhood. Midlife, perimenopause, career shifts, or any of life’s significant transitions bring the same tension; you can love parts of it and struggle with parts of it at the same time. That dichotomy? It’s real. And it’s precisely why so much advice online misses the mark.

Here’s what I know:

  • Athleticism and strength don’t end when life shifts. Not with motherhood. Not with hormonal changes.
  • True strength encompasses mental, emotional, and physical aspects. It’s about showing up for yourself, especially when things are messy.
  • Growth happens in the hard days, the in-between seasons, and the moments you didn’t expect.
